Star Wars music, probably the most recognized film music in the world, is truly iconic. What makes this concert different from just sitting at home listening to the scores on CD is that they joyously demonstrate how Mr. Williams' themes encompass and intertwine throughout the entire saga. The concert is a series of musical themes which are loosely ordered from Episodes I to VI but really focus on a concept or character. Mr. Williams truly understood the nature of the saga as a whole, despite scoring the music periodically from 1977 to 2005. For a score segment selected from a film, the video montage shows clips throughout the saga which relate to that theme. Themes from Episodes I thru III foreshadow the themes from Episodes IV thru VI. Not one scene from all six films feels out of place from the whole. Mr. Williams' music is literally the Force behind the films - it's all around them, penetrates them, binds the saga together. This concert places the music of John Williams at center stage, supported by Anthony Daniels dramatic and engaging introductions, and a jaw-dropping high-def panel screen featuring montages from all six films and pre-production materials. Highly recommended, see this if you have the opportunity. I have a gut instinct that a DVD may be released one day on this, but seeing the music performed LIVE in its sonic glory.
